Things You Need to Know About Emotional Health

The emotional health refers to a person’s mental ability and disposition under a stressful situation. Emotions are meant to be felt rather than just talking about it. In the modern society, we are not taught on how to deal with emotional stresses and rationalise things. However, the way you keep your body fit physically, similarly the emotional health is also something that has to be kept on high levels of fitness. The behaviour and mood of an individual’s directly indicate the person’s health.
Physical fitness and workouts not only improve your health and body functions, but it also effects your emotions. A person working out regularly is less likely to take stresses for prolonged periods because the body is able to come out of stressful situations quickly. In some cases, even the physical activities do not play a good role in improving one’s emotional status. If you have an issue, openly discuss it with your parents, friends or family, whoever you feel comfortable with rather than storing it and locking them up and later bursting without a warning. Suppressed emotions are stored in cellular memories and they could break out in stressful conditions or if the person is pushed towards the extreme of emotional distress. By stuffing emotions down the cells within the body suffocate and break eventually, paving way for un-healthy body functions and diminishing the exchange of toxins and nutrients resulting in prolonged depressions or stressful behaviour. However, until the chain is broken, the body will continue to strangle organ cells therefore creating a number of health related issues for prolonged periods. People with healthy emotional structure are able to restore their normal emotional status but those who are already emotionally weak continue in the state for up to months or even years before finally coming out of the misery.
A number of studies can show the link between our thoughts, feeling and beliefs with our overall health and wellbeing. There are specific receptors connected to our immune system and our brain and it releases chemicals in response to thoughts and emotions. In case of a bad emotional state, the body’s immunity system also suffers greatly and the person may become prone to many diseases. Happy people on the other hand experience a strong immunity system and are less prone to health related diseases.
Emotions cannot be ascertained through physical means that is why many people do not even know if they are suffering from emotional problems. There are a number of internal and external factors which provide help in determining the mental foundation of a person. Addressing these issues is important at early stages. People likely go into deep depressions after a minor emotional setback if they are not treated well on time. It is often neglected by people during contingent situations but it is important to address right in the beginning to avoid further damages.
Emotional health has great effects on the ability of a human to make appropriate decisions in routine life. However, if a person is suffering from emotional health, he or she may be un-able to make rational decisions or be productive in daily life.
